       Experiment 2 : Measuring of Guide Wavelenght, lH

 

 

    Result

     The difference between M1 and M2 is half that of the guide wavelength, in mm.

 

    lH/2 =  | M1. M2|

 

     The measured value for the guide wavelength is then:

 

     lH = _________ mm

 

      Calculate the value of l0 and lH for the frequency value (at 1.25 mm of micrometer screw setting, obtained from the      

      previous part  of this experiment 'experiment 1') and compare the lH with the measured value.

 

 

 

     lo = c / f   

      lH = lo / Ö [1- (lo /2a)²]

       a   = 15.8 mm
